Day One

PICTURE ABOVE IS MY GOAL WEIGHT!! LOL
Well, Day 1 has been more difficult than I thought it would be. I am so hungry, tired, and miserable. I know that it is because I am used to eating MORE food and food that isn't that healthy, but I can't shake this blah feeling! The beginning is always hard for me when it comes to "dieting". I had a hard time making sure to get in enough water today too. I had a crazy busy day at work and it was nearly impossible to be drinking as often as I should be. However, tomorrow should be a much more normal day at work, so hopefully that will make a difference.

I weighed myself this morning and I was exactly 170 lbs. :-( At least it is a nice even starting point. I am starting a workout routine today too that will include 5 days of cardio and 3 days of weights...2 days off. I will be running for 1.5 miles today. (Okay, maybe running is an exaggeration...I will be jogging!)

I think I did okay food wise today though.... (If you aren't doing weight watchers, please ignore the "points" listing next to each food. :)

Breakfast: Coffee with creamer (3 points--yikes!)

WW English Muffin (1pt)

Simply Fruit Strawberry Jam (1.5 pt)

Lunch: . 5 oz of fat free turkey meat (1 point)

Carrots & Cucumbers (0 points)

Tea & Honey (1 point)

Snack: Apple (1 point)

Fiber One Peanut Butter Bar (3 points)

DinnerTime: Nibbling on Son's Dinner (3 points)---I plan to eat my dinner after the gym.

My planned dinner: (Chicken breast (3 points) with green beans (0 points)---ww cookie for dessert (1 point)

That should leave me approximately 6 points that I didn't use---maybe I will add one more thing to my daytime food to keep away the hunger away and make sure I use the points....

(I will also be earning 3 points during my run, but those can be added to your 35 flex points that you get each week to use when eating out...)

  1. Okay, this blog seems a little lengthy...I might not always post what I ate and the points.....I will try to make it more reader friendly. :-) How was everyone else feeling today?

  2. Sounds like you had a nice OP Day! One word of advice though EAT YOUR Points, it will slow down your loss if you don't. I was on WW 3 years ago and lost 150 lbs in 9 months, I have learned what does and doesn't work, well for me anyway! :)
This week is going to be tough for me, my FIL is visiting from TX..we are in NJ and we are going out A LOT. We normally never go out since eating at home is so much better for you. I know counting points will be difficult this week, so I am just trying to make the best decisions possible and exercising at least 60 minutes a day. I'm going to do 30 mins of strength and weights when I am done here and I did 30 Minutes of running this morning.

My starting weight was 258.8 pounds (Gross I know!) and I am currently down to 208, still gross but I am improving. Ultimately I want to be about 150 lbs, but right now I am shooting for 170 and working down from there and eventually get to my ultimate goal. I'll definitely keep in touch with this Blog, my WI day is Mondays, so today I had my weigh in and was down 1.4 lbs this week, not too bad, I knew this week would be a smaller loss since I lost 3 lbs the week before, I always seem to have a big loss week followed by a small one, just works that way.

  3. Well done. It seems your day went well. Am 147pounds (68kg) from when I last weighed myself. I hope to go down to 130. I started exercising on a stationary bike for 40minutes a day in total. I normally do 20minutes in the morning, 20 minutes in the afternoon. Am hoping to increase to 30minutes each time once I build endurance. Weight loss dust to all of us who are trying to lose it.

  4. NJDevchick--Thank you for the advice on keeping on points! I actually put my chicken breast on a ww english muffin and added some salad with lite ceasar dressing, so that added 2 points and I only had 4 left over. I think the reason I didn't meet the requirements today is because I was trying to be soooo careful since it was day 1 that by the end, I realized I had some left. I didn't want to start eating more food when I wasn't hungry, but I looked it up online after your advice and realized that even if I just drank skim milk with my dinner, I could have added 2 points! I am going to make sure I meet my points today for sure! I'm so glad to have someone on here with the experiance! And I don't think 202 is gross! I think 51 lbs of weight loss is amazing! Great job...P.S. How much water do you drink? Do you find that helps more to drink a lot?

Nymichaba--That is great that you do that much cardio! I jogged a mile and a half as my day 1 workout...not a ton, but better than nothing!

  5. Heather Thanks. Just waiting to read how your day went today. I managed to increase my workout to 30minutes two times a day. But it's very hard. Sometimes I have to take a break in btn. DJdevchick...we are here to encourage each other. Wishing you all the strength you need in this weight loss journey. Sometimes it's so hard you just want to give up. My clothes don't fit, so that's what's motivating me, otherwise I will have to buy a new wardrobe and that's not cheap. Thank goodness am a SAHM at the moment, so I live in trackies.

  6. Heather, I drink Minimum 64 oz, usually closer to 80-90 oz of water a day. That is really all I drink. I have a half cup of OJ in the morning and and 1 cup of skim milk in the evening and everything else is water. It definitely helps drinking all that water. I have completely eliminated Caffiene from my diet and haven't had a soda in almost a year, that helps too :) I'm here whatever advice you need!!
